Foundation of DVEdit

Deo Volente was founded on October 3rd 2007, by WolfBane with support from Payne, making him the first leader of the clan. DV was forged in war from day 1. The very first day of the clan's existence, our first 8 members invaded room 78 of Sapphire Server and took the room by force from a much larger clan, LS (Liberty Soldiers). By the end of the week most of LS's members had joined DV augmenting our numbers up to nearly 40 listed members.

The superpower at the time, Chamber of Torture Knights (CTK), Immediately took notice and offered us a merger when the clan was only a month old. Bane declined but allied CTK out of respect for the mighty super power. Soon, members of a clan called UN started running their mouths and DV had its first major war. We won with relative ease as UN had little stability. DV ate up most of its good members and by early 2008 we were considered a force to be reckoned with on Sapphire server. CTK and Blue Angels(BA), the two largest clans on the server at the time were at war with each other, allowing DV to quietly pick on smaller clans like Elite Chaos X(ECX), RS and Prisoners of War(POW).

However, CTK and BA suddenly and unexpectedly called a truce. Being the third best clan on the server at the time we suddenly found ourselves in the cross hairs of the two major super powers. DV quickly allied Black Warriors(BW) and FG. DV also dispersed top, trusted members to spy on CTK. DV was especially motivated because BA and CTK both had spread rumors about Payne to players on the server. DV was able to survive an early attempt at a base takeover by BA, and soon DV spies were successful in reigniting the BA - CTK conflict. However, FG then decided to betray DV.

At this point, DV started gathering a wide base of smaller clans to ally, like DY and RE. DV then decided it had to pick a side in the CTK - BA conflict and fought on BA's side after CTK attacked DV's main allies, BW. BA started losing and fell into vast decline as Apollo went inactive. Luckily for DV, Ghosts of War(GW) had taken the time to build and grow strong and were momentarily the strongest clan on Sherwood, taking CTK's attention away from DV. It appeared that GW was about to destroy CTK, but CTK's brother clan CTW stepped in and brought the fight to a stalemate. GW then collapsed due to Punisher's absence, but by this time, Knights of Old(KO) and Dream Haunters(DH) both stepped in as neutral parties leaving Sapphire more or less in a stalemate for the summer of 2008 until KO/DH collapsed and CTK started weakening due to infighting caused by DV spies. DV and CTK called a truce as DV had also weakened significantly. CTK however, was in much more dire straights and was forced to move to Emerald where it would soon die. DV quickly rebuilt sharing the top 2 spots of Sapphire with BW for most of 2008. BW steadily declined in Sapphire leaving DV as the super power left in Sapphire.

At this time, key members like MetalFox-ND/KS, Fly-COL, Jessie-COL and King-ND/KS started leaving DV to form their own clans. Many of these clans, like Night Demons(ND) later renamed Keepers of Souls(KS) and Children of Light(COL), allied with DV creating an extremely strong powerbase for DV to rule over Sapphire. The KS+COL+DV alliance seemed unstoppable at the time, until up and coming clans Legendary Dynasty(LD), Soldiers From Shadows(SFS), AD & a GW revival and a few others formed a super alliance that was known as 'SEP'. SEP vs. the DV/KS/COL/DY/RE alliance easily became the craziest war in Sherwood history. With the absolute ridiculous amount of clans involved, it was complete chaos. After both sides failed to take over LD and DV bases respectively, both alliances started trying to pick on the weaker parts of the opposing alliance (COL, DY for the DV alliance, AD and GW on the SEP alliance).

SEP slowly started to win the war as both clans had even numbers, but SEP had all the elite fighters and better raiders. However, what the DV alliance lacked in man on man skill it made up with in stability. Just when it looked like SEP was about to blow the war wide open, SEP started collapsing. Shadow-SFS went inactive and SFS was significantly weakened. The DV alliance pounced on SFS raiding them constantly until they died. GW died overnight as Punisher-GW and Archwolf-GW quit Sherwood. Soon, SEP consisted of just LD and AD. DV relentlessly assaulted them both. LD and AD fought well, but raw numbers were too much. SEP finally collapsed after LD fell apart due to in-fighting. AD continued to fight DV for some time, as it was relatively stable, but Odd-AD quit Sherwood and soon, DV stood on top of Sherwood.

DV had a few short insignificant wars with a revival of () and a short lived war with KS before we re-allied. DV's main allies, BW moved to Emerald as it had been barely alive by this time. Sapphire's English clans started jumping ship one by one or dying until DV was all that remained. DV stood alone in limbo in Sapphire for quite a long time and slowly but surely went to decline as despite having a monopoly on English recruits in Sapphire, Sapphire's English community completely died. Finally, after DV was on the brink of death, the decision was made to move DV to Emerald.

DV history 09-12 *missing*

The brutal BC war

In February 2012, Pat joined DV and upon joining, he recruited many members from his old clan EcX and everything began to look uphill for DV as we were having our base full daily and raiding clans like TNR, WoD & EwR with the results being decisive victories. It seemed like none of the existing clans could compete with DV.

However, everything didn't stay nice and easy for DV though as a new enemy clan was founded by SunSetWolf and BlackHeartz. The clan was called Bellicose Cavalcade(BC) and it's sole purpose was to shake the foundation of the game. While I can't agree that they changed the game in any way they were one of the best raiding clans the game had ever seen. So BC declared war on DV, with many high ranking DV's leaving for BC like Theseus, Vision, and Memphis. To make matters worse for DV at the same time all of this was occurring the long time DV Leader GreyWolf announced he was stepping down from his rank as Leader and quitting Sherwood, leaving DV with no active leadership presence seeing as Acidic was inactive and nowhere to be seen.

The DV council was stunned, as it seemed that no matter what they could do BC was 1 step ahead. They would raid 5 DV, then camp 78 and recruit both new players and old veterans from DV. Within a few weeks 78 was literally empty all of the time. Things began to look up for DV though, Theseus came back from BC saying It was not the clan for him, Soul joined DV and bought 40+ members from his old clan TS as they merged into DV, and to top it all of Bane himself came back to help DV get back on it's feet. Our numbers began to grow, rivalling BC's activity, and then there was finally a raid. DV was on the boat, having a raid training session and BC came into the room for a raid. Once they made their way to the boat, there was a long and hard fought battle which was the turn of the war. Even though no side was a clear winner it was a huge boost for DV's morale because we knew we could stand toe-to-toe with them. After the boat raid DV began to raid BC even winning some battles, slowly a few BC members began to leave for DV, starting with Sorrow, Hollow, DeathDagger and Zorg, even Memphis returned although they were not the most important members in BC they helped even the playing field in raids and allow DV to surpass BC in activity.

More followed in the coming weeks, at this time Soul created an elite raiding group called 'The Onyx Guards', the group was made up of DV's best raiders and during raids it would target the enemy leaders or protect our own. The OG would go on to be well known throughout Sherwood community and feared our enemies. The Onyx Guard even beat BC,WoD, EwR, DW, NRG, SN, iMM & TNR's best raiders in fair and organised 10 v 10 & 8 V 8 raids. The Onyx Guards arguably helped turn the tide of the war massively as a group like this inside a large clan such as DV had never been seen before, the professional & elite tactics used by the OG were decisive and brutal.

The KS betrayal

During this war there was massive tension between DV and our oldest ally, KS. We reached out to KS many times for help against this new enemy, but BC had already threatened to destroy KS if they got involved with the war and this was enough to keep KS out of the war fearing for their clan. This decision left the leadership of DV scratching our heads and after the war we knew we would have to re-think our status with KS.

The fall of BC

As the war with BC went on Harvesteri was promoted from his CoLeader rank to become the new Leader as Bane once again disappeared leaving his clan to fend for itself. As the war went on into it's third month (June) BC members began to get banned. Including their founder BlackHeartz, he got banned 8 times yet still continued to not change. This was a huge shot in the knee for BH as Sun could not be as active. This hurt BC as the clan's activity declined over June until the clan was only active really late at night.

The Hun wars

Due to BC going inactive during one of our peak time zones we had to look elsewhere for an opponent to fight to keep our members happy, there weren't many clans around but then suddenly members of 'HL' (Hungarian Legion) started to flood into our base. Soul lead the defence against HL and the Hun's started dropping like flies even though they outnumbered us 15-10, our superior defence tactics were too much for them as Soul ordered DV to regroup on the ramp and fight close quarters against the Hun's as we were superior to them in PVP. After around 15 minutes the Hun's realised that they could not hold their own against us and retreated back to their base. This unprovoked attack would be the start of a long war with the Hun's, a war that was lead by DV council members Soul & Pat and turned into a kind of personal crusade against the Hun's. This attack was a blessing in disguise for DV to be honest, the Hun's had managed to grow ridiculously large and active in the EU/US time zone and were a perfect clan for us to focus our war effort on since BC were no longer around in our active time zones. The first attack on HL was lead by Pat & Soul who took around 15 DV members to the HL base and it lasted for around 3 hours, HL kept coming at us and they kept dropping. Their raiding skill was primitive, they did not back step, there was no teamwork & there was no solid leadership on the HL defensive. DV's orders were to stay in groups of 3's and take out the high ranking HL members as soon as they got to the courtyard. Out of bordem Soul ordered all DV members above the rank of Major to regroup on the ramp and the rest of the lower ranks to continue fighting the Hun's. The lower ranking DV members held their own against the Hun's and nearly managed to clear them without the aid of the high ranks and at that point Soul ordered the DV on the ramp to charge which resulted in DV clearing HL and a decisive victory. The rest of the war with HL was pretty similar to the first raid with DV mainly raiding HL for training purposes and to keep clan morale up as we dominated every raid against HL. Over time though HL started to adapt to our raids and they learnt how to back-step which livened our raids up a bit but eventually like most foreign clans they started to abuse it and started running around during raids. HL started to go in decline around this time and we took advantage of this, we managed to recruit 4-5 HL members who could speak decent English and 2 of them would later become Council members of DV. They were Tina & Zeus. They were in a relationship and stayed in DV for around 2 years, eventually they broke up and Zeus left Sherwood and Tina went on to join TQA, eventually becoming their highest ranking member, a Queen of TQA. The war with the Hun's was a quite a long & successful campaign, but it mainly served as a way to keep the clan active and morale high whilst we had next to no raiding activity against BC.

Over the Summer of 2012, 3 new Co Leaders had been named in an attempt to push DV even farther, they were Soul, Theseus and Pat. The plan worked too, DV had reached a new peak not seen sine 2012 and hasn't been seen since. Filling 3 bases at once, and raiding 4 clans at once(EWR/TNR/WoD/HL). We were firmly asserted as the #1 clan and were winning raids with ease, no other clan had the numbers or skill to compete with us.

Sweet Revenge

At this point the Leadership of the clan decided to review the actions of KS during the DV-BC war. During the war KS members would give DV members abuse and mock us when we were at our weakest, some would even openly support BC in their raids against us. This infuriated Soul who was only a Council member at the time, but he knew that there was practically nothing he could do as KS were literally DV's oldest ally. With his new powers as Co-Leader he brought forward the option to denounce KS as our Allies and openly declare war on them. And so a vote was brought forward, and a full vote for the option was granted, and so we decided we would remove KS from our allies and declare war on them for their treacherous and cowardice actions during the DV-BC war. This war was spear-headed by Soul. DV attacked KS first when they had around 15 members in their base at first KS thought it was a friendly visit as it usually was between our clans, but this time the vibe in the room was different. DV arrived prepared for war, to slaughter the cowards who left us to burn in our time of need, we attacked without remorse and we told them that this was there own fault due to their actions during the DV-BC war, the KS members tried to negotiate, but Soul wasn't listening to any of it. More KS came online and went to our base, but they were confused and thought it was some kind of troll raid so the DV in 78 also started to attack KS members and the 2 raids went on for hours with DV dominating in both rooms. Over the next 3 weeks DV would make it our goal to raid KS at least 2-3 times a day, which we did without losing a single raid as KS didn't have half the experience of war that DV has. Over this period KS got their allies BA involved to try and help them, and so BA bought it's allies.. Hordes and hordes of Spanish and Portuguese clans, so we called our only ally, SN the #1 Elite Ruby clan and SN managed to hold off BA and all their allies on their own whilst DV managed to start finishing off KS. Just before DV could land the finishing blow to KS their founder and previous DV council member, MetalFox returned from inactivity after he heard how DV was brutalising his clan he pleaded for peace talks which we took forward. We told him why we at war and he said that the KS leadership was not responsible for the clans actions during the war, because at the time the war broke out the complete leadership of KS was inactive and the clan was been run by a rogue council member, who was also one of the people responsible for mocking DV during the BC war. The leadership of DV quickly identified the ring-leaders of the rogue leadership and MetalFox kicked them from KS and re-established his clans leadership. Terms were made between both clans that day and they were that we would become allies once again and support each other no matter what, and KS must denounce BA as allies, which they did. So like that the DV-KS war was over.

Through war we are born stronger

Soon after the Leadership of both clans wanted to show Sherwood our clans new-found unity, and what better way to do that then raid literally every active clan in game, we called SN to come join us also. So our 3 clans DV,KS & SN gathered in 77, 78 & 79 maxing out all 3 rooms and in a very organised fashion we raided all of the foreign clans, BA, TNR, WoD & EWR winning every one of them. The re-established DV-KS-SN alliance took Sherwood by storm and we dominated the game once more, but over the next few weeks a lot of KS members decided that they preferred DV to KS and joined us, and so the majority of KS's members flocked to DV and with that KS went into another inactive slump. It appeared as if DV was going to be the only active and strong clan all summer until Crayvalley and Eternal created OC. They had many experienced members like Black Eagle, and Tiger. They quickly became active and made an alliance with DV to attack BC. This worked well for a while, with both clans raiding BC when possible, attempting to wear them down. However, nothing lasts forever with Cray. He broke his alliance with us and raided us one morning while we were low on numbers. So, we retaliated and beat them with ease, winning the vast majority of the raids between the 2 of us. OC began to wither and die, with heavy DV pressure so Cray tried to remake his old clan Spartans of TROY, yes Spartans of Troy. It only lasted literally a day though, as he ran back to OC when it was obvious it would fail. OC didn't fair much better and was dead shortly later without any offensive push from DV.

The TNR, WoD & EwR campaigns

Now at this point DV had literally no real opponent to fight, as BC had literally no activity, and OC was dead. So, we looked down to clans clearly below us to who would provide the best challenge. We thought it was clearly WoD, we began with a heavy offensive push against WoD and we beat them in literally every raid, they could not compete and after about a month of heavy raiding through August and September their clans activity had been completely crushed and Grateful ran away once again. After WoD fell into an inactive slumber there was nobody for DV to fight besides TNR, DW, and LDK/EWR. BlackEagle made AB but that didn't last very long, and no other new clans were made for a 5 month period.

The leadership decided that at this point we would focus our war efforts on TNR/DW/EwR and WoD(when they resurfaced) TNR - DW - WoD - EwR had all been locked in a constant back and forth war with each other over the year as they were all in a power struggle for top ten ranks between #9 to #6.

The initial brunt of our assault was mainly against TNR as they had the best activity out of the 4 clans at this point, we knew what to expect when we hit TNR as we had raided them before, but never actually had a full on war campaign against them. We hit them during one of their raid training sessions that they regularly did as their Founder WarGod was training his members whenever he could get the chance as he was always looking to improve his warriors so he could get the upper-hand in the war with his rivals. When we hit TNR the first time they thought it was just another raid and then over the next few days we were continuously raiding TNR and winning each time, their founder WarGod was getting extremely aggravated by us as he was starting to realise that now DV had TNR in our sights. Around the same time as us going to war with TNR they were also getting hit by EwR and DW which caused their activity to drop rapidly. One day we decided to hit TNR in a standard raid, we had about 20 members ready to hit TNR's base and so we joined the room, only to find that only 3 DV members managed to get in and then we saw a horde of EwR members raiding around 4 TNR members including WarGod, and in all fairness the TNR members were putting up a hell of a fight and were actually getting the majority of the kills. We stood and watched for a while before we decided to go back to base and look elsewhere for a raid. Over the next 2-3 weeks just about every time we wanted to raid TNR we were unable to as EwR had recently declared war on the dying TNR and were moving in for the kill constantly raiding TNR when they had low numbers on to try and drain all their morale, and one day we took pity on TNR.. And so we decided, what the hell ? We need a new active clan to go to war with and since TNR were basically out of the picture we had might as well declare war on EwR ! So when EwR decided to raid 3 TNR members with around 10-12 we decided that we would join the raid and aid TNR and at the same time raid EwR's base, and it was a slaughter the combined might of DV+TNR in room 71 was too much for EwR as they retreated back to their base where they were met by a flood of DV soldiers waiting for them to return, so then EwR had around 5-7 members locked in each room leaving us to just beat them down for around 3 hours to really drop their ego down a level.

And thus a new campaign against EwR had begun, their leaders Auralia & Path seemed to be extremely insulted by DV's involvement in there war and came to our base demanding an apology, yes that's right they literally lined up 20 members, came to our base and demanded that Soul personally apologise to their leadership.. And so Soul came down to speak with Aura & Path who at this point were telling him to beg for there forgiveness.. Soul laughed at them both before telling them to 'kindly suck his left ball' as he had 6 DV's line up beside him, Aura who was used to always getting her own way was outraged at Soul's response and ordered EwR to attack. Soul had DV regroup at the ramp and get in close to fight EwR who blindly charged at us on the ramp and as a group we started to drop them for fun, they couldn't get in close as we attacked with extreme discipline and skill, not letting any of them cross our lines and holding them at the bottom of the ramp, they tried to counter us many times, but they just couldn't outmanoeuvre us.

As time passed Auralia and Path were getting increasingly frustrated and started to trash their own clan members which lead to some of them leaving the room allowing more DV members to join the room, and after around 2 hours of a stalemate on the ramp we managed to get around 12 members finally in base so now it was our turn to be aggressive. We had 6 members regroup behind the EwR line without them noticing whilst the 6 members on the ramp went to the bottom to pull there members in and get there HP's low, and when there HP's were roughly around 50% Soul had the second group attack them from behind whilst the group on the ramp also charged which resulted in a quick and beautiful clear and an embarrassing loss for EwR who quickly retreated to their base.

Over the next few weeks we would constantly raid EwR winning every raid against them, there founder Path even resorted to hacking using the invincible hack to try and win raids which just resulted in him getting exposed and being ignored by about 80% of the server. At the same time as all of this WoD & TNR had managed to rebuild and both of them started to gang up on EwR, so we decided that since we had already proven that we are far superior to all 3 of them clans we would look elsewhere for a new opponent.

After scouting and snooping around for 2-3 days we noticed that DW had some decent activity that we could feed on, and so another war campaign begun against DW. -

The great war with The Empire

In January of 2013 DH was remade by Earth, Exile, Gag, Sun, and Shadow. They took Sherwood by a storm and quickly became the most active clan. DV tried to stand against them, but because of DV's domination of the end of 2012 the clan had become complacent, members had become bored and did not care anymore. We put up a good fight against DH, but due to real life issues Pat and Soul could not log in for the month of April and during this month DV lost leaders such as Acidic, and Tiger to DH. Along with our base, room 78. Pat and Soul eventually became active again in May, and on their return they were surprised to learn that DH had taken over room 78. They quickly took the few DV out to 83 to regroup and organise a counter-attack. We operated there for a few days before a massive raid by the 3 clans of The Empire (DH,FD,EcX). We held our own for hours before DV had to log off, and were replaced with more TE members in the room. At the end of the day only 4 DV were left fighting, and we lost the battle and moved to 96. In 96 Soul and Pat started reconstructing the leadership ranks and council of DV. MagicThunder and Jyles were made the new Co Leaders, and DV started to grow rapidly. As we continued to grow the DH and DV war had ended, and neither clan was raiding each other and Soul had come up with an idea for DV to join The Empire (TE), the council decided it was a good idea and with only slight resistance DV was allowed to enter and continued to grow fighting alongside DH. Everything didn't stay perfect for DV though, Soul, Jyles and other high ranks became inactive, and the ones that weren't inactive only argued with each other. 1 by 1 they left DV until there was hardly anyone left. Pat and MagicThunder talked as being the only 2 leaders left of DV and they agreed to close the clan until we could sustain DV on Sherwood again, which happened sooner than we thought. Flyer and Mento appeared and attempted to remake DV(Which was failing harder than DH 2014) and we took notice of it. Pat informed Soul about this over Skype, and we were at first going to have Flyer & Mento disband their remake attempt, but we decided that instead we would support it, so in secret Pat & Soul started planning to revive DV. The secret uprising was getting stronger by the day bringing back more and more of DV's members like Jyles, Theseus, Korp, MagicThunder and Hannah. However the word got out before it was meant to when someone recorded Pat speaking about it in a private conversation and showed it to DH's leadership, resulting in DV separating from The Empire before we were ready. And so Pat & Soul remade DV and allowed Flyer and his 3 DV's to join the legitimate DV. The Empire furiously attacked DV leaving our leadership with no choice but to seek an alliance with NRG who we had been neutral with for years, but Soul had close connections with NRG as he had a close alliance with them in his previous clan TS. A secret meeting involving DV's council and NRG's leadership was held to determine the new alliance's name and raid colors, the outcome was an alliance named The Republic and we used white as raid color as a symbol of defiance to The Empire's trademark black. We felt more confident with allies behind our back, but our hopes were shattered the next day when NRG suddenly betrayed us and joined the empire leaving our 'Republic' in ruins, this action also lead to one of the biggest raids that year, the entirity of The Empire consisting DH, FD, EcX and the new addition NRG all came crashing down on us at once. Luckily for DV we had the home field advantage having most of the horde locked out due to room join limit. We called SN to aid us during this raid and they attacked The Empire's base of room 89 whilst DV stood firm in room 78, this war was a long and tiring one and went on for around 8 hours with each side gaining the upper hand various times in both rooms but no side really managed to get an advantage. Eventually after around 7 hours of constant warfare DV+SN were finally starting to get the upper hand as we knew that this war would be the final major conflict with The Empire and it would result in either a shameful defeat for DV and result in us losing our base once more, or it would result in DV showing The Empire that we won't back down like the last time, this was our final chance to show the server that we mean business. Around this time we managed to get Harvesteri, former DV Leader online and with the leadership of Pat & Soul and the motivation of having Harvesteri on the field DV's morale rocketed and all our members seemed to be on fire dropping The Empire's members left, right and center ! After around 8 hours The Empire called an end to the raid and they each retreated to their bases, so SN returned to 78 and we all regrouped to recover. Soul called a short rest period for DV/SN whilst he claimed he mysteriously disappeared for around 5 minutes, then he rejoined 78 and called DV/SN to the formation at the bridge and prepare for war, after preparing for the raid a large group of high ranking KS members joined 78 as we prepared to cut the head off the snake that was The Empire. So Soul organized the DV/SN/KS members into 4 raid parties, one would hit DH/EcX in 89, one would hit FD in 42, one would hit NRG in 96 and the last would guard 78 from any counter attack and swap with members in raid rooms when they were tired of leaving. Just as the attack order was about to be issued Apollo the Founder of BA appeared in 78 and said he wanted to help us destroy The Empire, so we spoke briefly and he told us that at that very same time he had BA/CROWS/IMMORTALS/TIW/AIR and various other smaller foreign clans preparing to hit The Empire. We normally wouldn't even listen to Apollo as he was well known for talking trash, but one thing he was good at was rallying the foreign clans under BA's banner. So Pat & Soul followed Apollo to where his clan & allies were camped and his words were true, 3 full rooms of BA and it's allies were preparing to hit The Empire so we thought what the hell and so with DV/SN/KS/BA/CROWS/IMMORTALS/TIW/AIR/Various others totalling around 150-200 people total we hit The Empire(DH/FD/EcX/NRG), and we hit them HARD ! With all their clan bases full they were unable to regroup and support each other which was the key to there raiding success, there members were already demoralized and worn out from the 8 hour raid they just had with DV/SN. The first of The Empire clans to fall was NRG, with TIW/AIR taking their base, Korp was acting as the General & raid leader in room 95 leading the offensive, and NRG fought hard, but the shear numbers of The rag-tag alliance was too overwhelming for NRG and once we cleared them the first time they couldn't manage to regroup successfully which resulted in them getting cleared multiple times. The next to fall was FD with CROWS & IMMORTALS taking there base, Flyer & an unknown BA General were leading the offensive in room 42 against FD and it was reported that FD were calling for surrender as they were too tired to continue fighting but Flyer was merciless and kept hitting FD with wave after wave of our blue soldiers, Flyer masterfully using superior tactics managed to flank the FD defensive and soon cleared them from the courtyard. Eventually the whole room of 42 was flooded with blue soldiers and FD surrendered their base to us. Finally the only Empire clans that stood were DH/EcX in room 89. At this point the raiding had been constant for around 14 hours, DH were then left alone as EcX had given in and deserted DH. And so it came down to a mix DV/SN/KS/BA high ranks v DH in 89 and at this point DH knew they had no chance and their leaders called a surrender for the first time in their clans history as they couldn't continue to fight us, which we ignored, but they surrendered anyway and ran into the safe zones or left the room. As a result our 'rag-tag alliance' claimed rooms 89/95/42 as our own for our huge alliance. Although most of the clans in this alliance were natural enemies and had been for years we decided that it would be in all of our clans interests to keep this alliance going, at least for a while just to keep DH at bay.

After this huge conflict the DV-DH never picked up like it did before, with a new fresh look DV quickly became a large active clan, rivalling DH's activity. Everything was fine for a month, until DH imploded on itself and we managed to recruit many ex-DH's into the clan. After this though it was quickly discovered that DH were planning to remake TheEmpire and steal DV members by joining and befriending our members. They were all quickly kicked and they remade DH. DV then tried to make an empire of our own to protect 78 and make sure that we would not lose it again, then we made a quick plan to make UC with Crayvalley to hold 78 against DH. So overnight DV+SoF merged into one huge abomination of a clan, it was massively unstable due to too many conflicting personalities and leading styles within the high ranks, we could fill 3-4 rooms at a time as we were ridiculously big. We had a few raids with DH and we did great, DH couldn't stand against our numbers. It never worked out however and Soul broke DV off from UC and then both DV & SoF were back up and running. Soon after UC broke up like a sad love story the DH onslaught had finally arrived at our door, back in huge numbers after they organized a massive attack to reclaim room 78 and once again we were kicked back to room 96. After this a few of us decided to just give up for the time being, due to boredom, low morale, or whatever you may call it and DV was dead.

In December however, after denying MagicThunder multiple times on his requests he got a hold of Bane and he was granted a chance to remake DV. DV had initial success when he was around, but the clan struggled slightly after he left. Many members had concerns with MagicThunder's leadership, and there were arguments about him remaining leader every 2nd day. Eventually in early January he stepped down and was replaced with Flyer, who added Jyles to leader in a controversial move that many did not agree with at first, but it paid off in the end. In March both Pat and Frostvoltz were made CoLeaders. During this time period Soul was given complete control of DV by Bane who gave him the 'Commanding Officer' rank, ranking him above Flyer, Jyles and even Bane to have some sort of final say in clan matters to keep things running smoothly. Soul restored Pat to his Leader rank at this point. In 2014 there was no real threat to DV as a clan. LK, SoF, DH, and now RoV have all tired to kill us, but none have really come close. We have been a powerful efficient war clan by 2014 standards winning the vast majority of our raids with only 1 clan being able to stand up to us(SOF).

DV's last call to war & our departure from Sherwood

In mid-May 2014 Sherwood was practically dead clan wise, with only BA, TQA and a few other rag-tag clans left that had decent numbers, DV's leadership had fallen quiet since Flyer stepped down from his position and left Sherwood. Soul's return shortly after Flyers departure boosted DV's morale though and Soul promised to make some major changes to the leadership of DV, his first action was appointing Slash as a temporary CoLeader. During an unexpected raid from KOV which started off as 6 DV vs 10 KOV a call was put out over Skype for DV to get online, surprisingly ex-Leader's Patrick & MagicThunder both came online to support the call along with many other DV members, we ended up over-powering KOV and sending them back to their base, Pat was re-instated as Leader & MagicThunder was given CoLeader as they both returned to being active. After the raid DV had around 15-20 members in base. After such a good come back DV was dominating Sherwood once more and made it back into the top #3 clans. Obviously our success drew the attention of our former ally & newly re-made, current #1 clan BW, they declared war on us and it would prove to be the worst decision their leadership could make that year. The war was relatively short and only lasted around 3 weeks, but in that time we literally destroyed BW with our superior numbers and raiding skill we could pull 30-40 members on for fun and just camp in their base as well as holding our own. The Onyx Guard raiding group was re-formed by Soul and BW just fell apart from the inside due to power struggles between it's high ranks. After dominating all of our enemies DV's activity started to plummet after 7-8 months, with the return of old clans such as CTK and SoF our numbers started to drop rapidly. But the DV leadership had already foreseen this happening and had already established another branch of DV on a different game after we knew it was inevitable that the DV Sherwood branch was going to die.

A final goodbye

On 30.10.14 the following was posted: Announcement: DV, our time is finally up.. Our empire lay in ruins.. Our once great and powerful clan is no more on Sherwood Dungeon. Due to inactivity and most of our members leaving the clan I have made the decision to close the Deo Volente Sherwood branch down, we will however be re-opening DV on an entirely new game quite soon ! If you wish to remain part of our great clan then add me on Skype at: marysinthedyson And you will be added to our DV Chat where you can keep in contact with all our members.

It has been a fun few years leading DV on Sherwood but the game just doesn't have enough new players signing up, every day it seems like more and more players are quitting rather than joining. Us moving to a different game will be a new start for DV, and a chance for us to dominate on a new game as we have done on Sherwood for the past few years. I hope you can join us in building our new empire.

DV will however remain as an open group on Sherwood Dungeon, but nothing official so feel free to wear the DV tags as you please. Any attempt to re-make DV on Sherwood will be shunned and will not be in any way associated with the real DV.

This new branch of DV will be a new chapter for us, after 2 years of planning to move away from Sherwood we are finally doing it..

Over the years DV was alive on Sherwood Dungeon over 3,000 individual people(at least) have come through our ranks. Sherwood Dungeon was the making of our Guild and our core. We shall never forget it, but for now it's onwards & upwards !

Commanding Officer & Leader of Deo Volente ~Soul
